Elefteria (Elia) Psillakis is Full Professor in Water Chemistry at the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Crete, Greece. Her research activities focus on (i) green sample preparation, (ii) understanding the fundamentals of new sample preparation methods, and (ii) the fate of emerging contaminants in natural and engineered water. She has 7 book chapters, 100 ISI publications with > 7800 citations (h-index=46) and 3 “Top cited article” awards. In 2007, she received a Fulbright Award and used it at Caltech, USA). Psillakis was featured in the Power List 2021 of the “The Analytical Scientist”. She is Editor-in-Chief of “Advances in Sample Preparation” (Elsevier), Specialty Chief Editor of “Environmental Analysis” (Frontiers) and Editor in “Journal of Separation Science” (Wiley). Psillakis is Head of the Sample Preparation Study Group and Network of the EuChemS-DAC and co-chair of the IUPAC project “Greenness of official standard sample preparation methods”. She is Founder and Director of ExtraTECH, a TUCrete Spin-Off Company. From 2014-2016 she acted as the Deputy Rector of Academic Affairs and Research and has served twice as Director of Postgraduate studies.
